Folk Tales From The Hinterland
Short Story Submissions Are
CLOSING DATE 30TH JUNE 2021
We are thrilled to announce our first anthology, and we want your short stories to be part of it!
We are looking for horror stories between 3000-6000 words based on creatures from European folk-lore. Our company’s name comes from one such folk story local to the West Country of England, so that’s the kind of thing we’re looking for.
Think kelpies, banshees, werewolves, fairy folk, and any and all mysterious creatures that might be lurking in the hinterland. Perhaps a weary traveller meets the Devil on a lonely country road, or an old lady outsmarts a trouble-making fairy that has taken up residence in her house? Or, maybe a hiker discovers a cave leading to unknown danger, or a sleeping dragon awakens from its fabled lair to terrorize a small village?
Check out our Submissions page for our general guidelines. We will only accept short stories that have not been previously published. No multiple or simultaneous submissions.
Email submissions to: firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to hearing from you!
